Visiting Totara House and Totara House Inpatient Ward during the Covid-19 Pandemic: Across the world and now in Aotearoa New Zealand, major disruption to health, social, economic and community systems is escalating. The wellbeing, health and safety of all Totara Hospices patients, their families/whānau, our workforce, visitors and community are of paramount importance.
Totara Hospice must now take its own unprecedented actions to maintain the safety of our people and environment. As such in meeting our obligations to help contain Covid1-19 amongst our communities and under the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015, the following restrictions are in place effective immediately as of 6am, 28th February- Please note that this guidance is subject to change and will be regularly reviewed.

Whānau/family and friends are always welcome between our regular visiting hours of 8am and 8pm, 7 days a week at Totara House. Totara House is located at at Totara House, 140 Charles Prevost Drive, The Gardens, Manurewa (location map).

For large families or out of town whānau who wish to stay overnight there is a Whānau Flat available – this is a self-contained 2 bedroom unit on our grounds. A bond is required and nominal daily fees apply. If you are interested in arranging a stay, please feel free to discuss with your Hospice team.

We have an onsite café providing simple but delicious food and beverages at a reasonable cost, Cafe Aroha is open to all hospice users as well as the general public from 8:00am – 2pm Monday to Friday.
