The programme is open to students from years 7 through to year 13, as well as school leavers up to the age of 21.
The Youth Ambassador programme provides young people with valuable experience in leadership, public speaking and events. The Youth Ambassadors play an important role in positively raising the profile of Totara Hospice in the local community and encouraging other young people to become involved with Hospice.
Our current Head Youth Ambassador, Fangafua Po’oi, is in her final year of school and taking on her first year as lead after volunteering with us since 2014. She enjoys knowing her efforts are making a difference and the different opportunities it has presented her; including talking to a wide range of people and working as part of a team at events and fundraising initiatives.
“I can’t wait to get out there and do more for Hospice at a different level with this new role,” - Fanga’fua Po’oi
