The New Zealand 2020 General Election includes a choice to answer on 2 different referendums that the NZ Public is being asked to vote on.
The two referendum questions are on:
Before you cast your vote, it's important that you have all the information you need to make your choice.
The factual, impartial information on this Government website link www.referendums.govt.nz has been designed to help you understand what is being proposed for each referendum, so you can feel confident that you know what you're voting on.
At Totara Hospice we believe in great palliative care and we believe in the human rights of individuals. We await the outcome of the referendums, as that will be the platform upon which we will decide how best to next respond in order to continue to meet the needs of the patient and support their families/whānau.
Totara Hospice will always value and support patients’ to live well and die well and to have control of their choices right to the end of their life. We will always support their family/whānau to live well throughout.
We expect and respect that differences will occur amongst people and organisations.
We remain united in the view that great palliative care should be accessible to all who need it.
As noted above we advise everyone to visit the www.referendums.govt.nz website. Review the final relevant information for you to make an informed decision on your choice for the Referendum questions.
