Community Fundraising

Are you thinking of fundraising for Hospice, there are many ways to get involved – we would love to hear from you.

If you'd like to help fundraise for Tōtara Hospice, we'll be behind you every step of the way. Whether you're raising money in memory of a loved one, or simply supporting us as your local Hospice, let us know what you're planning and we'll be able to help you with helpful tips and resources.
However much you raise, whether a little or a lot, it will make a real difference to those in the care of Hospice.

 

Other Suggestions

  • Host a mufti day or special dress up day at school or work, asking people to donate in order to take part
  • Host a competition, such as an indoor bowls competition and donate the proceeds to Tōtara Hospice
  • Take on a fitness challenge, such as a marathon or cycle and fundraise as you train 
  • We would love to hear any new ideas you have as well...

Fundraising Volunteers

Throughout the year, Tōtara Hospice hosts various events and runs appeals to raise vital funds. These events and appeals would not be successful without the help of our wonderful volunteers. At events, volunteers can opt to help with various aspects of the day, including preparation and set up, manning stalls and running raffles or challenges. Volunteers are also crucial for appeals, such as the Trees of Remembrance appeal in December, as they are rostered on to man the stalls and collect money at local supermarkets and malls.

Our fundraising volunteers are invaluable as they represent Hospice out in the public and are a friendly face for people to associate Hospice with. 

Fundraising volunteering is a great way to:

  • Get fundraising experience and build your CV
  • Meet lots of interesting people
  • Develop skills such as communication, customer service, event organisation
  • Experience a wide range of exciting events and appeals
