Work With Us

Supportive, collaborative, welcoming. There is no 'I' in 'Team' here. Our people (staff and volunteers) are passionate in their shared belief that living well and dying well are fundamental values within a compassionate and caring community. Our people enjoy free parking on-site, always! There is also an on-site café (where staff can purchase a discounted coffee card) serving Jack's coffee and delicious food made in the TH kitchen alongside a modern lunch room and beautiful grounds to enjoy during break times.

As an employer/organisation of choice, we support our people to develop and grow, contribute to the top of their skill set and abilities, become leaders in ways big and small and to rise to the challenge of our work to improve patient and family experience.

At Tōtara Hospice, all are welcome. We pride ourselves on our welcoming culture that values diversity, equity and inclusion and are committed to providing equal employment opportunities to those of all backgrounds and identities. We are dedicated to ensuring safe care of whānau Māori and honouring the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi by providing bicultural competency education, facilitated by Empowering Change, to all staff members and embracing the use of Te Reo Māori. We are also a proud supporter of Pride Pledge, and work to provide an authentically safe and inclusive environment for our Rainbow community, not only for the benefit of our staff and volunteers but also for the patients and whānau who use our services.

We always welcome expressions of interest especially welcoming inquiries from Māori, Pacifika, Asian, Disability and Rainbow communities, reflecting our 'Hospice for All' committment and welcoming the rich perspectives and talents that diversity brings. If a role is not advertised that you are interested in, but you would still like to find out about working at Tōtara Hospice, please send your CV and cover letter to the email address listed below.
