Support the Hospice

The Hospice offers a free service for care. The annual operating costs are met through a contract with the District Health Board and donations from the community:

• Donations from individuals and businesses
• Memorial donations in lieu of flowers
• Fundraising activities
• Legacies and bequests

How can you support the Hospice?

Gifts and services
Gifts and services to assist the hospice in providing and maintaining care and services for patients and families in the South Auckland district may be given in the form of donations.

A bequest is a gift made through your Will.
When you write or revise your Will, you may choose to make a bequest knowing that this gift will help a person with a terminal illness experience an added quality of life throughout their remaining days.

Memorial donations
Memorial Donations in lieu of flowers may be posted, made at the Hospice or at the funeral service.
Donations can be made by cheque, cash (in person at the Hospice), or by credit card. Receipts are issued for all donations.

Personal property
Donations of personal property for sale or use at the Hospice are most appreciated, these may be delivered to any of the 6 Hospice shops or the warehouse.
Larger items can be collected by the Hospice Vehicle, by phoning the Manager Retail Services 640-0025 during office hours to arrange a mutual time for collection.

Friends of Hospice subscription
Friends of Hospice subscription. An annual donation of $50 supports the Hospice in the day to day running. 

Volunteers work in all areas of the Hospice Service including:
o Day Hospice
o Home Visits
o In Patient Unit
o Transport of patients to appointments, admissions, etc.
o Biography Service
o Management and staffing of 7 Hospice Shops and warehouse
o Gardening
o Clerical Support
o Handyman Services
o Floral Artists
o Hairdressers
o Massage Therapists
o Art Group
