A Leap of Faith

Having recently attended the Hospice South Auckland liNKS/ Day Stay Programme, Faye Shone is a shining example of how Hospice and the services we provide can have unexpected outcomes.

Last year Faye took a leap of faith and resigned from her role as a bank manager, with no real thoughts about what she was going to do. Shortly after Faye's mother-in-law was diagnosed with breast cancer and within three months learnt that it had become widespread. Helping care for her, Faye and her husband learnt about the LINKS/Day Stay programme, which they all ended up attending.

Improving our Community's Hospice
Hospice South Auckland's main objective is to ensure that all peopel have access to quality end of life care and support when and wherever they need it. We continually strive to expand and enhance our services,it's something we've been doing for nearly 30 years.Our goalis to provide the best possible care for our patients and their families/whanau in South Auckland.
Oh How The Garden Grows
The Valerie Adams Rose Garden project received a significant boost with two generous donations recently.The money raised from these generous organisations will be used to support the In Patient Unit and our community nursing service and will be recognised in the garden in the form of a seat,blocks and pavers.

Up with the sun
Around 1,000 women took part in this year's Sunrise Walk for Hospice on 3 April, including 82 year old great-grandmother Marjorie Tyer who participated in the 1Okm walk option!
