If you have not received your registration pack in the post by Friday 1st April you will be required to collect this on event day at check-in.

Entrants registering after Tuesday 29th March will not be posted a registration pack and will be required to collect the pack on event day at check-in. Please read the below details carefully so you know what to expect on event day. 

Online registrations will close at 12 noon on Friday 1st April.
Postal registrations will close Tuesday 29th March. 

REMINDER OF THE DETAILS
The Sunrise Walk for Hospice will take place on Sunday 3rd April 2011 rain or shine. The start and finish lines are on the Central Lawn at the Auckland Botanic Gardens. Please utilise the Garden's main parking area and follow directions from the parking wardens at all times.

All participants must check-in at the Registration Desk upon arrival where you will receive your Sunrise Walk for Hospice cap. At this time individuals and team leaders will provide the check-in staff with the Pledge Summary Form and optional Pledge Payments. We aim to have 1500 participants in this event and therefore recommend you arrive early to avoid check-in queues. The Registration Desk will open at 5.30am. 

After check-in you may store your belongings in the Bag Check-In, this service is free. Please ensure you bring one bag to store all your belongings that is able to be closed for security. The use of this service is at your risk and we are unable to take responsibility for lost or stolen items.

At the completion of the course, each entrant will receive a goody bag with great giveaways. Entrants will also be treated to a complimentary light breakfast and live entertainment.

PARTICIPANT LANYARD
The participant lanyard is proof of registration and must be worn at all times during the event. If you have received your lanyard already please keep this in a safe place and remember to bring this with you on the day! If you have not received your registration pack in the post by Friday 1st April your lanyard can be collected at check-in on event day. The lanyard can be un-folded to reveal a trail map, participant instructions and safety information. Please read these details carefully. We also ask that you complete in clear handwriting the emergency contact section.

FUNDRAISING AND PLEDGE COLLECTION
The Sunrise Walk for Hospice is more than a walking event; it is a fundraising event to help cover our annual operating costs. We ask that you please help make this event successful by gaining sponsorship from friends, family or workmates. You have until 5.00pm Friday May 13th to collect your fundraising money and submit to Hospice South Auckland. Once all the pledge payments are received, we’ll determine the individual and team that have raised the most. These will be the prize winners who will be contacted by email or phone on May 19th 2011 during Hospice Awareness Week.

Individuals and teams can accept pledges either by using the manual sponsorship forms or by using our online fundraising. Pledge payments do not have to be collected immediately however this is recommended and generally is easier than following up your sponsors for payment later.

PLEDGE RECOGNITION AT EVENT
Please bring completed Pledge Summary Form (bottom of Pledge Info Sheet) to the Sunrise Walk for Hospice on Sunday April 3rd 2011. Team Leaders please complete this form on behalf of your entire team. The Pledge data will be entered into our tracking spreadsheet so we can measure the success of the event and announce the leading individual and teams during breakfast. Prize winners will not be finalised or announced at the event, notification of prize winners will be made on our website on May 19th 2011 once all the pledge payments are collected and counted. 

PLEDGE PAYMENT AT EVENT
Partial or full payments will be accepted upon check-in at the Sunrise Walk for Hospice event. These payments can be made by cheque or cash – sorry no EFTPOS or credit card facilities will be available on site. We can only accept one payment per team on event day. Payments made at the event are optional.

PAYMENT DEADLINE – Friday 13th May 2011
To be nominated for the Individual Travel Package or the Team Spending Spree payments must be received in full by Hospice South Auckland before 5pm, Friday 13th May 2011. Payments made after this date will not be considered for a prize. Prize winners will be announced on May 19th 2011
 
MAKING YOUR PLEDGE PAYMENT
Pledge payments made at the event will be accepted by cash or cheque.
Pledge payments made directly to Hospice South Auckland will be accepted by cash, cheque or credit card. All payments made after the event must be accompanied by the Participant Sponsorship Form(s).
