Hospice South Auckland is able to offer the following palliative care educational opportunities for generalist providers.

Palliative Care Specialist Education

Palliative care specialists are available to support CME sessions for General Practitioners.

Genesis Oncology Breakfast

The Genesis Oncology Breakfast education sessions consist of a programme run by Hospice New Zealand and sponsored by the Genesis Oncology Trust for hospices and specialist Palliative Care services throughout New Zealand in teleconference format. Speakers and topics reflect a wide range of special interest, innovative actions and required knowledge in Palliative Care.   General Practitioners and Practice Nurses are invited to attend these sessions at Hospice South Auckland. 

The Lecture series is endorsed by The Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners (RNZGP) and is approved for 1 hour per session up to a total of 10 hours for General Practice Education Programme Stage 2 (formerly AVE) and Maintenance of Profession Standards (MOPS) purposes.

Nurses can use the series to gain professional development hours for their competency portfolios.
