New Name

There is great excitement and pride around our change to a new and updated name - Totara Hospice south auckland.

The Board’s decision to change our name from Hospice South Auckland was not taken lightly and followed an intense deliberation by the Board over a period of some five months.

The Pakuranga Country Club demonstrates this with their special golf tournament run every year to raise money for Totara Hospice south auckland. In fact this year is the 20th year the Club have run this event for our Hospice with supporting sponsorship from Simmonds Lumber... now that’s a relationship to be proud of!
Where there's a will there's a way
While the subject of wills and estate planning is not the most popular of dinner time conversations, experts tell us that we should review our will at least every seven years, or when a significant event happens in a person’s life.
Our hearfelt thanks
At our recent Annual General Meeting (AGM) we farewelled two trustees acknowledging their outstanding efforts for our Hospice.
Building project update
Work commenced on the Totara Hospice south auckland site in mid-September and at the time of this newsletter going to print, the principal contractors, Hawkins Construction, are between seven – 14 days ahead of schedule.
Annual General Meeting
The Annual General Meeting of Hospice south auckland and The Totara Foundation was held on Wednesday 19 October and was attended by a number of Friends of Hospice, including past and present trustees, volunteers and a good representation of staff.
Christmas a time of giving and remembrance
In addition to being the season for giving, Christmas often reminds us of our loved ones that are no longer with us. The tradition of the Christmas Remembrance Trees has become a special one for Hospice and it simply wouldn’t be possible every year without the dedication of our volunteers who help us man the trees in shopping centres across our area.
