Community Palliative Care Service

Provides expert care and practical assistance to the patient and their family/whanau. We encourage the family/ caregivers to be an integral part of the care team. We recognise in a culturally appropriate manner that caring for someone who is ill is very strenuous, both physically and emotionally, however it is also very rewarding and a wonderful gift to your loved one.

The palliative care nurse visits regularly and works within a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best quality of life for patient and family. Hospice works closely with other health providers such as your General Practitioner and district nurse. Together we endeavour to provide a culturally appropriate service.

To support the community service, specialised equipment is available on loan.
