Caring for our community is a walk in the park!
Wake up and smell the roses! Get your girlfriends together and start the day walking whist raising much needed funds for Hospice South Auckland.
The inaugural women's Sunrise Walk for Hospice will be held on Sunday 18th April in the beautiful Auckland Botanic Gardens and Totara Park in Manurewa. Participants choose to walk or run either the Hawkins Trail (approx 5km) or the Holcim Trail (approx 10km). Starting at the Botanic Gardens Central Lawn the Hawkins Trail will take you around the perimeter of the Gardens. For those wishing to push the limits further the Holcim Trail edges through to Totara Park following the Puhinui Stream Track.
Funds to support the work of Hospice will be raised through the registration fee of $25 and participant fundraising efforts. There are fantastic prizes for the most sponsorship raised by an individual and by a team. In recognition of the hard work a light breakfast will be provided at the finish line as well as live entertainment and goodie bags for all participants.
The Hospice receives funding from the District Health Board but must raise an additional $2.68 million this year to cover operational and capital costs. By getting friends, family or colleagues to sponsor your efforts, you will help raise the funds to cover these costs. Ladies, you will be helping to keep our doors open! Men, do not feel left out of this event, come along and support the ladies in your life. Hospice also needs volunteers to help make this a fantastic event.
To register for the Sunrise Walk or to volunteer visit the Hospice website at www.hospice.co.nz and follow the link to the Sunrise Walk for Hospice or contact the Hospice on 640 0025.
A huge thank you to all our corporate supporters who have made this event possible.
