Urgent Call for Volunteer Help

This month we are urging people who live in the Papatoetoe and Otahuhu areas to come forward and volunteer in our Otahuhu and Papatoetoe (School Corner) shops.

We are desperately under staffed in these 2 shops and could really use your help - even if only for 4 hours a week! Working in our shops is a fun and rewarding experience. No two days are the same and all training and assistance is provided to you to ensure that you are comfortable with your work environment and know what is expected of you.

As the tough economic conditions in NZ continue, Hospice South Auckland relies more and more on the money made in our shops to continue to provide our free health care service and without more volunteers in our shops (particularly Otahuhu and School Corner) we are in danger of being unable to open these shops on some occasions.

In particular, we could do with people who can work on Saturdays and also people who are prepared to eventually be shift supervisors which can include opening or closing the shop some days and being in charge of the operation of the shop in the absence of a shop manager.  If you have any sort of experience, or no experience – we’d love to hear from you!

Please contact Matt Adams, the Retail Services Manager on 640 0243 to find out more information.
